Swearing in of Lord Sales as Deputy President and of Lord Doherty as a Justice of the Supreme Court

The swearing in of Lord Sales as Deputy President and of Lord Doherty as a Justice of the Supreme Court will take place on Monday 12 January.

On Monday 12th January at 9am, Lord Sales will be sworn in as Deputy President of the Supreme Court, followed by the swearing in of Lord Doherty as a new Justice of the Supreme Court.

The ceremony will take place in Courtroom 1 in the presence of the other Justices, the family and friends of Lord Sales and Lord Doherty, and invited guests.

Public and press can watch the ceremony via the live stream, which will be available on the Supreme Court website. A short time after the event, the video footage of the swearing-in will be available to view on the Court’s YouTube channel. The official photographs will be available on the Court’s social media pages.

The Court’s building will be closed to the public during the swearing in and will reopen at 12pm.
