Scam calls

We are aware that some members of the public have received telephone calls from people claiming to be from HMRC asking for money and/or making threatening statements. Due to phone number cloning the calls may appear to come from UKSC switchboard phone numbers (020 7960 1500/1900 or 020 7960 1991/1992). In some cases, people have been asked to look up the UKSC website to 'verify' the switchboard numbers on the website.

The Supreme Court is separate from HMRC and is not involved with tax payments and will not contact individuals about tax matters. HMRC does not use any Supreme Court phone numbers.

This is a scam, and if you receive such a call you should not disclose your personal details or pay any money.

You can find more information about these scams on the Government website.

Scam emails

Please note that members of the public have received scam emails using the UK Supreme Court's name, address and telephone number.

If you receive such an email, you should not disclose your personal details or pay any money.

How to report suspicious emails and phone calls

If you have suffered financial loss or want to report a scam contact Action Fraud - the UK's national fraud and cyber-crime reporting centre. You can call Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 (please note this number will be charged at your normal network rate).
