Swearing-in ceremony of two new Supreme Court Justices

On Monday 1 October a special ceremony will be held for the swearing-in of two new Justices of the UK Supreme Court, marking the beginning of the new legal year. Lady Justice Arden and Lord Justice Kitchin will be sworn in at 10am in Courtroom One.

The Supreme Court building will remain open to the public whilst the ceremony takes place. Visitors will be welcome to watch the ceremony live on a 'big screen' in Courtroom Two, with seats allocated on a first come first served basis.

The Court will close promptly after the ceremony at 10.30am and all visitors will be asked to leave. The building, including the Registry, will then re-open to the public at 11.15am.

The ceremony will be live streamed on the Supreme Court website and, a short time after the event, will be available to view 'on demand' via the Court's YouTube channel.
