On Tuesday 12 June a special ceremony will be held for the swearing in of the New Deputy President of the Supreme Court, Lord Reed.

During the ceremony, Lord Reed will take the Judicial Oath and the Oath of Allegiance.

Lord Reed officially took over the role of Deputy President on 7 June, following Lord Mance's retirement on 6 June. He became the fourth Deputy President of the Supreme Court.

Lord Reed has been a Supreme Court Justice since February 2012.

The ceremony will take place at 9.30am in Courtroom 1. The building will remain open to the public as normal. The ceremony will be live streamed on the Supreme Court website, then available 'on demand' from our YouTube channel the following day.
