The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council is delighted to welcome the awarding of an OBE to the Court's Registrar, Louise di Mambro, in the New Year Honours list. Mrs di Mambro has been awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to the administration of justice.

The President of the Supreme Court and Chairman of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, Lord Reed, said: "Our warmest congratulations go to Louise upon being awarded this well deserved honour. Louise has enjoyed a long and distinguished career serving the judicial system and currently exercises judicial and administrative functions for both the Supreme Court and Judicial Committee of the Privy Council as Registrar.

"Louise's career is one dedicated to public service. She was called to the Bar in 1976 and she served in the Government Legal Service in the Treasury Solicitor's Department and the Lord Chancellor's Department for twenty years. Louise was then a deputy master in the Court of Appeal, Civil Division, working in the Royal Courts of Justice until 2008.

"Louise was an integral part of the transition from the House of Lords, working as Deputy Head of the Judicial Office of the House of Lords, and then as our Registrar since the establishment of the Supreme Court in October 2009 and Registrar of the Privy Council since April 2011.

"We are thrilled and immensely proud that Louise has been honoured in this way. We send her and her family our heartfelt thanks for her service and celebrate this welcome news with them."
